Proclaiming a Day of Prayer The National Day of Prayer is recognized at the government level through proclamations. Since the founding of our country, presidents have called for one or more days for the nation to fast and pray together. Today, both our Colorado Governor and the President of the United States, sign proclamations declaring a day of prayer for the state and nation.
